Introduction to Jiu-Jitsu: 4 Week Course

Our Intro to BJJ course is a fantastic way to learn the basics — and we route all new students through this class!

We’ve just begun our FINAL Intro to BJJ session for 2024. We’ll start the next class on January 6, 2025, and you can register for that session here. These classes run Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

Intro is an eight class series, so we’ll start Jan. 6, 2025 with Class Number One. If you want to sign up for regular training after that, you’ll be able to attend ANY of our 40-ish classes per week.

These classes run twice a week for four weeks. More details are below, and will also be in the Welcome Packet, coming to the email you signed up with!

Please note: We’re requiring all students in this Intro class to be vaccinated against COVID-19. We’re doing this to minimize risks to our community’s health and to keep our place a safe, healthy place to train. If you aren’t vaccinated yet, here is a list of FREE vaccination clinics around the county. It takes 20 minutes, doesn’t require registration, and again, is free. If you’re unable to be vaccinated at this time, please let us know, and we’re happy to provide a full refund or reserve your spot for a future class.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a fun, full-body workout as well as a complete self-defense system. Plus, it tends to get people hooked — something as intellectually and physical challenging as BJJ is always new and interesting. Our 4 week Intro to BJJ course includes four weeks of Intro to BJJ curriculum, access to an extensive online study library of video techniques and notes, plus a free gi uniform.

We’ve specifically designed our Intro series to give people a successful introduction to the art and to our academy. We cap it at 12 students, and every time we run it, it sells out. There are 12 total slots available for this class, and when they’re gone, they’re gone.

This Intro to BJJ course is a recurring jiu-jitsu foundations class with an 4-week session. For 4 weeks, students will train based on our Intro curriculum. Afterward, students will have the opportunity to join our academy. We have a regular Jiu-Jitsu Fundamentals class, which uses an expanded 12 week curriculum, as well as no-gi jiujitsu, takedowns for jiu-jitsu, and advanced jiu-jitsu classes.

The cost will be $250. That price gets you the entire month of training plus a free BJJ gi (a Bellingham BJJ academy gi that regularly retails for about $100). That’s eight classes, and four weeks of training plus a free gi for $250 total.

Our Intro to BJJ classes are taught by highly experienced, qualified instructors.  You can find the curriculum for the four-week class here. (There may be small changes to this depending on student experience level, background and interest). To learn about our COVID protocols, check out this post. <— These protocols are updated regularly based on conditions.

Again, welcome! Please reach out to jeff at bellingham bjj dot com with any questions.
