Exciting news: due to profound growth, Bellingham BJJ is moving to a new location!
We’re thrilled to realize this dream of a dedicated space for jiu-jitsu. We’ll be right downtown at 205 West Holly St. in a 4,400-square-foot facility that will let us keep growing and supporting our community.
The expansion will give us room for day and evening classes, private lessons, and serious training. We’re devoted to self-defense, competition and high-quality instruction for everybody and every body. All we’re going to be doing here is jiu-jitsu, our shared passion.
A few highlights of the new space:
- Two large mat areas for training;
- 12 classes every week this summer, plus special events with special guests;
- A sweet spot next to great restaurants and post-training spots;
- And a one-minute walk from the Commercial Street garage downtown (plentiful parking that’s free after 5 p.m. and on weekends).
We’ve been so happy to incubate this academy at Bellingham MMA and get the chance to roll with those of you who’ve visited from Shayne Simpson’s, West Coast Fight Club, Wakizashi BJJ, Livewire MMA and even farther afield. We’re looking forward to training with you all in the new space!
Our soft open for the fundamentals and advanced technique classes begins on June 1, with a Grand Open(ing) Mat on June 15 and the first of our rotating, six-week Intro to BJJ courses starting June 17. You can find the schedule here on BellinghamBJJ.com.
If you’re an existing Bellingham BJJ student, please plan to check out the new space and class schedule, tuition-free, through the month of June. We’ll be welcoming a new crop of Intro to Jiu-jitsu students in on June 17 and will depend on you to show them how to become good training partners.
Our goal, as always, is to grow the community and keep everyone training and moving forward with their jiu-jitsu, whatever form that takes.
More soon!
