5th Anniversary Blowout

It’s all happening: On May 1, we’ll celebrate our FIFTH ANNIVERSARY DOWNTOWN!

We’ve had so much fun and so many amazing instructors come through that we invited a bunch of them back! All regular 6 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and noon classes will be ON during this special week, but we will have special guest instructors for at least a few of those 6 a.m. and noon classes as well. The plan is for Dave Porter to teach ALL of the noon classes — so don’t miss anything! Kids classes are also on a regular schedule. There will be no additional charge for any of the daytime classes, and one Golden Ticket gets you access to the night and weekend classes from Wednesday-Sunday as well.

We’re re-orienting the night and weekend classes to take advantage of our amazing visitors, though! Our regular night sessions after 5 p.m. are replaced by the following schedule:

Wednesday, May 1:
5 p.m.: Megan Katsaounis teaches Women/Non-Binary Class. Megan is a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu brown belt who recently led a self defense series at Chapel Hill Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in North Carolina.

6 p.m.: Jake Whitfield teaches night gi class. Jake is a third-degree black belt, has incredible gi and nogi jiujitsu, is a former MMA champion and law enforcement officer who is also an outstanding instructor. Do not miss this. (Intro to BJJ students will also join this special class, for a free bonus addition to their Intro session)

Thursday, May 2:
6 p.m.: Diana Wang from Open Mat Physio leads a workshop on warmups, cooldowns, exercises and other strategies to keep yourself healthy for rolling.

Friday, May 3:
5 p.m. Peter McGregor teaches nogi. Pete has taught multiple well-received classes here before, and is one of the most world-renowned experts on adaptive grappling.

6 p.m. Seph Smith teaches night gi class and we follow up with Marathon Roll.  Seph is the man

Saturday, May 4:
11 a.m. Rob Biernacki nogi seminar. Winner of numerous accolades including IBJJF Nogi Worlds, Rob is a well-respected teacher and leader of Island Top Team.

Sunday, May 5:
11 a.m. David Porter gi seminar. Dave is one of the best instructors in the world, bar none, and there wouldn’t be a Bellingham BJJ without him. About one-third of us remember when Dave taught here full-time, and the rest of y’all are about to find out what the fuss is about.

Any one of these seminars would generally cost $60-80. For this week, we’re offering a Golden Ticket: $80 gets you access to EVERY SINGLE ONE of these classes. This link will let you sign up for that Golden Ticket.

Thanks, and here’s to another 5 years, and another 50 after that.
